Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has, again, congratulated the Chief of Staff to the immediate past President of Nigeria, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, CFR, NPOM for successfully completing his services to the nation as a close aide to the former President.
In a statement, the National President of the Union, Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi, said that the renowned international statesman gave a very good account of himself while occupying the position, saying that his tenure, which lasted for three years, was positively monumental.
Alhaji Uthman described Prof. Gambari as an epitome of knowledge, humility, patriotism and resourcefulness, adding that the highly respected scholar brought to bear on the Office of the Chief of Staff to the President uncommon high intellect, meticulousness and versatility.
The Union said that Prof. Gambari, who is also the Wambai of Ilorin, while holding the strategic position served as a nationalist in a balanced manner as expected of anyone holding such an office in an heterogeneous nation, saying that he also served with a lot of maturity, which brought honour and glory to his ancestral community.
The IEDPU thanked Prof. Gambari for all he was able to attract and achieve for the Kwara State, especially Ilorin Emirate before and after his last public service appointment, noting that history would be very kind with him.
The Union said that it was pleased that the accomplished diplomat served and left the office without any form of blemish, saying that his contributions are preserved for posterity.
Alhaji Uthman congratulated the Governor of Kwara State, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON and the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, as well as the good people of Ilorin Emirate and Kwara State on the unsoiled and celebrated manners the former Chief of Staff to the President served and graciously left the stage.
The Union wished Prof. Gambari sound health, more wisdom and long life to enable him serve Allah and humanity more.
