Stakeholders condemn high rate of quackery in Nursing, Midwives profession in Kogi


Stakeholders in the Nursing and Midwives Kogi State Council have condemned the high rate of quackery in the nursing profession in the State.

This came at a meeting with relevant Elders forum and stakeholders from the three Senatorial Districts to deliberate on issues concerning the Nurses and Midwives with the chairman of the Association in Lokoja .

The meeting which was attended by retired Permanent Secretaries in the profession, past chairmen including serving Nurses and Midwives.

At the end of the meeting, the resolution were made which includes the condemnation of recent attacks on the Medical Store by the hoodlums in the recent time in lokoja.

The Nurses and Midwives elders forum pledged their unalloyed support to the course of the association and frowned in strong term the plan to train community Nurses and Midwives with lower entering qualifications in the state.

The Chairman of the Association, Comrade Nuhu Momoh-Omuya commended efforts of the present of the State Adminitrative Council for their continuing support to build association Secretariat in Lokoja.

Comrade Nuhu Momoh- Omuya also commended the state governor Yahaya Bello for his giant strides especially in the renovation of hospitals across the state and the payment of salary to Civil servants.

At the end of the meeting, stakeholder, from the Central Mallam Adagiri Ibrahim, Shehu Abdullah West and Elder Adegbe Yakubu from the East expressed optimism the efforts of the present Executive for living upto expectations in the affairs of the association also expressed dismay on the activities of the quackery nurses and Midwives described it as worriesome
