The event had in attendance chairmen from the 5 ward of the Local Government Areas of Kogi West as well as chairmanship and councillorship candidates not excluding dignitaries and supporters from far and near.

Mr Ben Aberoran, the former SDP zonal kogi west chairman called out the chairmanship candidates to address their teaming supporters and outline their point of agenda to the people.

Ajagun Opeyemi Samuel, the flagbearer of the Social Democratic Party, (SDP) in the forthcoming Yagba West chairmanship election in his speech said that his desire is to make education free in yagba west if given the opportunity to serve.

Ajagun said that quality education breeds good leaders in the society, as such, one of his cardinal point of agenda is to make eduaction free.

He decried that if necessary action is not taken to revive the standard of education in the local government, things may be at the worst in the years to come.

“Years Back, when I came home, I saw some children roaming around the streets and I had discussion with some of them on why they were not in school, their responses left me in great sadness that I had to focus on how I can render assistant to some of these children”

“The present government doesn’t make education their priority, they believe that once they buy Motorcycle, grinding machines e.t.c and share it in the name of empowerment, they have done the right thing not knowing that the best thing a government can do to have a sound and well educated people in the society is to make provision for quality education and make it free for all” he said

Ajagun said that he is also worried about the security condition of his local government sighting the incessant destruction of farms products by Fulani herdmen which has resulted in scarcity of foods in the area.

He promised to set up a machinery to combat insecurity, saying that his people will be able to sleep with their two eyes closed.
