Sen. Kalu Charges Governor’s On Youths Inclusion In Governance


 

 

The former Governor of Abia State, Senator Orji Uzo Kalu
has charged all the Governors in the country to involve youth in the governance of their states in order to build a virile structures that will stand a test of time in future.

The Senator Kalu gave the charge on Wednesday at Government House Lokoja when he paid a courtesy vist on Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state .

According to him, any Governor that worth his onions and has the desire to achieve for his people in terms of development will not only empowered the youth, but he would bring them close to the governance of the state as the future leaders of today and tomorrow.

The Senate Chief Whip said “Any Governor who has the desire to achieve for his people should not leave the youth behind because they are the future of today and tomorrow.

“And if a government build a strong society without building a strong backup , whatever is done today will definitely not stand tomorrow and such effort will be in futility and it is the people that will be at the receiving end”

While commending Governor Yahaya Bello for bring youth into the governor of Kogi State , tbe former Governor of Abia State , enjoined other state governors who are not yiuth friendly to have a rethink and do the needful in the interest of development.

“I want to/used this opportunity to commend and appreciate Governor Bello who deem it fit to leave his door wide open for youth and women to participate in the governance of his state” he said

Senator Kalu who also praised Governor Bello for his developmental stride in the state , encourage him not to relent in his effort to do more for the people of the state, saying “no body knows where the messiah who will salvage this country will come from

“I also want to encourage the governor for the enormous development he has brought to Kogi State. As a young man you are doing exactly what you ought to do by giving energy to work.

“I was also a young man when I became a governor and I know the quantum of energy you are committing to the development of your state.
Governance is not really meant for lazy people because of the effort requires to achieve successes for the people” he stated.

Responding, Governor Bello who described Orji Kalu as a detribalised leader and true Nigerian, appealed to him not to be tired of preaching peace and unity to all Nigerians both at home and in diaspora.

Speaking on the APC Membership Registration and Validation exercise, Governor Bello disclosed that the party is making progress as no fewer than 25 million people have joined the largest party in Africa.
