Obaro of Kabba gets Ile-Ife Royal honour, to Chair 2020 Obalufon Lecture
The Obaro of Kabba and the Chairman, Okun Traditional Council, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi will be the Chairman of the Obalufon Festival and Annual Lecture, holding in Ile-Ife, Osun State on Friday, December 18, 2020.
The lecture is a prelude to the yearly Obalufon Festival holding in the ancient city on Sunday, December 19, 2020.
According to a statement issued by the Obalufon Royal Dynasty, organizers of the festival, the lecture titled “Obalufon Festival: The Road to Cultural and Tourism Development in Ile-Ife and the Yoruba Nation”, will be delivered by Professor Abimbola Aderoju of the Department of History, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife.
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi will be the grand royal host while the Alayemore of Ido-Osun, Oba Adedapo Aderemi and the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Mr. Benedict Olugboyega Alabi will the the host and special guest of honour respectively at the event.
Leading traditional rulers, arts and culture enthusiasts as well as eminent personalities across Yorubaland, will be in attendance at the lecture which will hold at the Oba Okunade Sijuade Memorial Hall, Enuwa, Ile-Ife at 11 am.
