“M A X”, Drastically reducing unemployment in Kogi State.
Metro African Xpress, popularly known as MAX, a technology enabled company that gives out two and three wheelers (motorbikes and tricycles) on hire purchase schemes, says it has given out about 1,409 of its vehicles to ‘champions’ in Kogi state between September, 2023 and now.
The State Business Manager who doubles as the Pipe line Conversion Manager, Mr Enyo John disclosed this recently in a discussion.
Mr Enyo John expressed satisfaction with the response of his clients whom he calls champions, noting that the company, owned by a Nigerian, was all out in Kogi State, to contribute to the economy of the state by reducing unemployment especially among the youth, through its HIGHER PURCHASE scheme as a Corporate Social Responsibility, for which he hoped the state will be happy with.
The State Business Manager said ” We think about the Nigerian situation, we think about mobility and creating employments, we are in every state of the South West, we are in Kogi now, in Nassarawa and some parts of the FCT. MAX is out to stop the youth from stooping into antisocial activities; we have graduates, uniformed personnel, business people and of course, civil servants who have gotten the facilities. Yours is to work and pay back either weekly or daily basis and upon full payment, the property becomes yours”.
Looking critically at the difficulty to pay cash for such facilities at once, MAX came up the hire purchase scheme, which is putting food on the tables of hundreds of thousands that are jobless. The results, no doubt is quite glaring.
A visit to MAX Corporate Office and Warehouse at the defunct PZ, is a beehive of activities. From the registration point to the documentation, training and official release point, up to the point where these facilities are coupled, there’s no dull moment as the champions anxiously wait in turns to pick theirs, coming from all nooks and crannies of Kogi state.
MAX riders are identified with yellow painted bikes (Maxokada) with helmets and yellow painted tricycles (Maxikeke) all over town.
