KOGI: Water challenge in Lokoja would soon be a thing of the past, Water Resources Commissioner Assures.

 

The Kogi State Commissioner For Water Resources, Engr. Farouk Danladi has assured that the water challenge facing the people of Lokoja would soon be a thing of the past.

Engr. Farouk gave the assurances shortly after he was assigned the portfolio of the Commissioner For Water Resources by Gov. Ododo Ahmed Usman, urged for patience on the part of the people.

” The Government is aware of the challenges. We are not unmindful of the water scarcity. As soon as we assume office, we will take a look at the challenges, see how we can solve the problems once and for all”.

” The greater Lokoja water works has the capacity to deliver 10million cubic metres of water to the people daily”.

” We have a strong conviction that with 3million cubic metres, water supply can be reticulated to all parts of the State capital”

” As an Engineer we are trained to be problem solvers. I can assure you that everything humanly possible would be done to solve the problem of water in Lokoja and other parts of the State”.

” We are aware that the issue of power supply to power such magnitude of demand is a problem. We are aware of other surrounding problems. We are not going to allow the challenges to overwhelm us”.

” All we are demanding from the people is a little bit of patience and cooperation as I can assure you that Gov. Ododo is resolved to meet with the yearnings and aspirations of the people of Kogi State “.

Engr. Farouk expressed his appreciation to Former Governor Yahaya Bello for the actualization of the Gov. Ododo’s successful takeover of the State and for recommending him to the Governor to serve in his cabinet, promised to justify the confidence reposed on him.

Engr. Farouk expressed confidence that the present administration is people oriented, called on the people to show more Commitment in supporting the administration.

The Commissioner For Water Resources said he remains passionately committed to the growth and development of the State, promised to justify his passion by working hard to meet with the Ministry’s objectives.

He promised the workers in his ministry all the needed motivation and encouragement that will enable them discharge their duties with selfless service.
