Amb. Dr. Regina Ocheni

 

Members of the Igalamela Community from Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of Kogi State based in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, this Saturday came out in their numbers to celebrate one of their illustratrious daughters, Ambassador (Doctor) Regina Ocheni for her excellence in Diplomatic service and uncommon commitment to the development of Igalamela community.

Ambassador (Doctor) Regina who is the immediate past Deputy Head of Mission to the Republic of Germany, is currently a Director in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja.

The colorful ceremony which attracted personalities from within and outside the community, including traditional rulers was used to eulogize Ambassador (Doctor) Regina Ocheni for being a virtuous woman and an asset to her community and beyond.

Various Speakers at the event described the celebrant as a generous Woman who has postively touched the community through her numerous people-centered programs .

They particularly noted her efforts in facilitating the employment of youths and women empowerment.

Ambassador Regina I.Ocheni in her speech at the occasion, appreciated the continued love and support of the community to her in particular and the family as a whole.

She reiterated her firm commitment to work very closely with other major stakeholders in the area to build the capacity of youth in the Local Government.

“I’m committed to joining hands with others in our dear Local Government to place our youth in their rightful position in order to curb societal vices prevailing in our communities”.

Ambassador Regina Ocheni also acknowledged the immense support and cooperation of her husband, Professor Stephen Ocheni, describing him as a pillar behind her success both at home and outside.

The Chairman of the occasion, Chief James Ogwu Onoja,who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, described the honor on Ambassador Regina Ocheni as well deserved giving her achievements as a mother and public servant.

” This family is worth emulating, like every other persons, including my humble self, I will wish to be like Professor Stephen and Ambassador Regina Ocheni, whom I have greatly admired their ways of life and uncommon achievements “.

Earlier the husband of the celebrant, Professor Stephen Ocheni said the reception was a great honor to him and his entire family.

Other speakers, including the Eje Dekina, Alhaji Usman Obaje, the Etemahi Igalamela, Chief Abel Etuh as well as a former Chairman of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government, Comrade Zakito Umar all congratulated and praised Ambassador Regina Ocheni for her outstanding success in the home front and in the public service.

In a welcome address, the Chairman of Abuja branch of Igalamela Community Development Association, Alaji Omale stated that the community is proud of the landmark projects graciously executed in Igalamela community by the celebrant.

The former Chief of Navy Staff, Admiral Usman Jibril, a former Governorship candidate of PDP in Kogi state, Engineer Musa Wada, a member of the House of Representatives representing Idah Federal Constituency, Hon David Zacharia, a former Kogi state Governorship aspirant under PDP, Mr Ilonah Idoko and the Ohiagba of Mozum, Alhaji Khalid Bukar as well as senior staff of Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the occasion.
