
The Kogi State Chief Judge, Justice S.O Ota has tasked MAGISTRATES to strive hard to higher standard of integrity to enable them face the 21-century judiciary practice and challenges.
Justice Otu made the appeal while declaring this year”s Magistrates’ Association of Nigeria (MAN) Kogi State chapter week open in Lokoja, the State.
The State Chief also disclosed that Magistrates’ should be ready to acqure modern knowledge and up date themselves with Information from indept research in legal practice as it is only platform to fit in in the global legal competitiveness .
‘As Magistrates’ saddled with the herculean task to deliver justice, you should make conscious efforts to move with time ,so that we are not left behind in the Information and communication Technology(ICTs) world’.
The State Chief Judge who thought provoking speech was read by Justice Alaba Ajileye of the State high Court urged the Magistrates’ to access lastest Information about legal practice through internet as learning and discovery as made easy by it.
In a keynote address , the Chairman , Magistrates’ Association of Nigeria, Doctor Tanko Mohammed intimated the participants that the week is organised as part of the Association’s modest efforts to build capacity, brush and sharpening Magistrates’ skills for the ultimate goal of effective and effecient dispensation of justice in kogi State.

The three days meeting which drawn legal luminaries including members of Bar and Bench, civil Society groups, and security agencies will be rounded up on wednessday this week.
