COMMUNIQUE OF THE NATIONAL YOUTH COUNCIL OF NIGERIA, KOGI STATE CHAPTER (NYCN) ON THE 5TH OF JANUARY, 2021 AT YOUTH HOUSE, LOKOJA.
The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter held her management meeting in
line with the constitution of the council.
Composition of the meeting:
The meeting had in attendance Ex-Chairmen of the Council, State Executive Council,
Coordinators of the Local Government and Heads of Voluntary Youth Organizations.
Resolutions of the Management Meeting:
The meeting upon extensive deliberation on salient issues on the Agenda of the meeting, the
management meeting came to the following resolve:
1. That a process for the conduct of Local Congresses at the Local Government Areas except,
Lokoja, Bassa and Yagba West should commence in line with the 90 days constitutional
provision.
2. That 9 men Congress Planning Committee be set up at the state level to coordinate the
Local Government Congress in collaboration with the Zonal Vice Chairmen of the zones.
3. That three members committee be appointed in the Local Government to work with the State Congress Planning Committee who has the mandate to conduct congress at the local government level.
4. That the Coordinators appointed as either Secretary or Supervisory councilors should handover to Deputy in acting capacity, unless in a situation whereby there is an existing tradition which is to be resolved at the Local Government Level.
5. That the Coordinators should work with the State official for smooth congress.
6. That the council vehicle is not an official car for the coordinator but for the council. Hence,
should be so put in use for the purpose of the council.
7. That the names of the 9 men Central Congress Planning Committee and 3 men local
government congress planning committee respectively to be headed by all state Excos of each
local government which will be announced immediately after due consideration by the state
Excos 3day after the general resolution.
8. That the council shall commence youth groups/individual registration for eligibility (to vote
and be voted for) to enhance her database.
9. Finally we wish to appreciate and commend His Excellency Alh Yahaya Bello The Executive Governor of Kogi State for given the youths of Kogi State sustainable development capacity Express in the manner of leadership especially in the entire local government areas and much
to mention at state level we remain committed even as we collectively aspire to move from GYB to PYB for the actualization of a new Nigeria Dream.
