The present administration of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo has been praised for making the security of lives and properties a major priority of his Government.
The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf gave the
commendation at the official handing over of security vehicles to vigilantees and hunters to enhance community policing.
The Speaker who was full of praises for the Caretaker Chairman, lauded the efforts of the Caretaker Committee Chairman, Comr. Abdullahi Adamu for his deliberate efforts to secure the metropolis.
The Speaker maintained that the Caretaker Chairman has not disappointed the people since his appointment, said with the efforts of the Chairman, he has restored confidence and governance to the people.
The Speaker pointed out that no meaningful business will flourish flourish in any society when there is no security, commended the administration of Gov. Ododo for his commitment to uniting and securing the people.
Hon. Umar described security as the collective responsibilities of all, urged the people to avail security agencies of information to enable them fight insecurity headlong.
In his remarks, the State Security Adviser, Commodore Jerry Omodara, commended the proactiveness of Gov. Ododo in handling security.
Omodara described security as the business of all, appealed to the indigenes of Lokoja to avail security agencies of information, disclosing that it is key to tackling insecurity.
The Security Adviser State expressed satisfaction that the State has become a positive reference in community policing, urged traditional Rulers in Lokoja LGA to be mindful and vigilant, pointing out that nobody can occupy their land without their permission.
He urged the traditional Rulers to profile all visitors ensure that they are documented, urge the Caretaker Chairman of Lokoja LGC not to depart from the path of security he has created that has made him a positive reference in the administration of Gov. Ododo.
In his remarks, the Caretaker Chairman said the vehicles handed over to the Vigilantees was not meant to escort individuals.
The Caretaker Chairman assured that the security of lives and properties will top his administration’s priority.
The Chairman disclosed that the five vehicles, Hilux and motorcycles handed over to the vigilantee will strive to secure Oshiokoshoko
