Kogi Central: How Natasha, her husband, party Chairman plotted my disqualification – Sen. Ogembe

Former Senator, Ahmed Ogembe has confirmed his reported disqualification by the committee set up by the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, to screen aspirants jostling for the party’s tickets.

Speaking with ebirareporters.com via phone call, the former lawmaker confirmed the disqualification, describing it as a hatchet job plotted by his opponents.

Ogembe accused Barr. Natasha Akpoti, her Husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan and the State Party Chairman, Engr. Sam Uhuotu of plotting the disqualification of major contenders for the Kogi Central Senatorial ticket.

The plot, he pointed, started from Chief Uduaghan who ensured that the Chairman of the National Assembly Screening Committee, Mr. Olorogun Jaro Egbo from Delta State was strongly recommended by the State Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

According to him, the reason for his disqualification was out of the party’s guidelines for disqualification of aspirants.

“The screening guideline is clear. If they disqualified me outside that guideline, if I go to court, I will nullify the entire process. The whole process is not finished, the appeal panel is there, so we will go through the whole process.

“How can we have seven aspirants and Natasha will disqualify four and keep three that she know are weak? She disqualified Adamu Attah, she disqualified Adomu Etudaye, she disqualified me, and she disqualified M.I. Onimisi. How can you do that? You are new in the party and in less than two months, you are causing problems for everybody.

“Even if I decide to use my delegates, do you think I will give it to her? Then, how does she think she will win now? Or I decide to go to court, that will nullify the entire process. We have seen something like this before, these are kangaroo stuffs. They brought somebody to come and do a hatchet job, they have done it, let’s see how far they can go with it.

He threatened to nullify the entire primary election in court if he is not cleared by the appeal panel.

“It’s not somebody like me they can do that to and get away with it. It’s not possible. It’s Natasha’s husband and the party Chairman that is doing all these. It’s not a big deal, we’ll come out of it,” he added.
