KGCSDA: Gov. Bello Inaugurates Adavi Eba Community Model College Science Laboratory

The Kogi State Community and Social Development Agency has continued to Inaugurate more projects under the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (N-Cares) Program with a call on communities in the State by Gov. Yahaya Bello to strive towards peaceful coexistence as the present administration he explained has zero tolerance for crime and criminality.

 

Gov. Bello reiterated his commitment to making the State the safest, warned against all negative vices inimical to peace and security, described the present administration in the State as one resolutely committed to bringing development to the doors of the people.

 

Gov. Bello made the disclosure at the occasion of the Inauguration and handing over of Adavi Eba Community Model College Science Laboratory, Renovation of Primary Health Care Centre Ohieka and Extension of Water Pipe Network within Opetu Newlayout, all in Adavi LGA of Kogi State.

Gov. Yahaya Bello was represented at the occasion by Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami, Council Chairman, Adavi LGA, said no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of rancour, appreciated the people of Adavi LGA for there support to his administration.

The Community Model College Adavi Eba Science Laboratory, the Primary Health Care Centre Ohieka and the Extension of Water Pipe Network within Opetu Newlayout is put at the cost of N14million, with Gov. Bello tasking the people to maintain and use the infrastructure for the purposes intended.

Speaking at the occasion, the General Manager, KGCSDA, Mall. Dauda Momoh, expressed appreciation to the CPMC, Chairman of Adavi LGA, says with the Science Laboratory in the Community Model College, a new dawn he stressed has been created for professionals to be produced by the Adavi LGA in the coming years.

 

The General Manager paid glowing tribute to Gov. Yahaya Bello for making the State one of the most secured in the country, pointing out that no meaningful development can take place in an atmosphere of violence, called on the community to guard the projects Inaugurated jealously.

 

In his message at the occasion, the Ohi Adavi, HRH, Mohammed Bello, said the projects executed by the State Government in Adavi LGA could not have come at a better time than now, expressed appreciation that all the projects have direct bearings on the lives of the people.

 

He stressed that when properly put into use, the area will join leagues of communities producing professionals for the country, while the health needs of the people he explained would be greatly improved upon with the cottage hospital and potable drinking water.

Similarly, HRH Taru of Ezuka, Agaba Abdulazeez, lauded the quality execution of all the projects, called on the community to strive towards maintaining the projects, urged them not misuse the opportunity provided to them amidst scarce resources.

Also speaking at the inauguration, Alh. Dauda Abedoh, Chairman Adavi Eba Development Association, expressed gratitude to Gov. Bello for bringing democracy dividends close to the people of Adavi LGA. He equally expressed satisfaction with the quality of work and timely completion of the projects, assured of the unflinching support of the people to the administration of Gov Yahaya Bello.

Earlier in his remarks, Mall. Abdulatif Aliyu, the CPMC Chairman, said the community opted for a laboratory in view of the importance of Science and Technology in the lives of the people.

While pointing out that with the Laboratory, the study of Science education would be deeply rooted in the School and Community, pointed out that the Laboratory has affected enrollment, explaining that report from the School, showed that there was increased enrollment of students in the new academic calendar.

The CPMC Chairman appreciated the present administration for reducing counterpart funds from 10% to 2.5%, said the gesture has enabled communities to embark on people oriented projects with ease.

The CPMC Secretary, Suleiman Dauda Abdullahi, added that the projects and completion was a product of team work, paid glowing tribute to the KGCSDA for the constant supervision of the projects, expressed gratitude for the support of the KGCSDA in the successful completion of the Laboratory, Cottage Hospital and water reticulation project, assured of the Community’s support to the present administration.

In the words of Daniel Ohida Peter, the Principal of Adavi Eba Model College, he described the Science Laboratory project as a product of good thinking, pointing out that in the next few years, Adavi LGA would join in the committee of Local Government Area producing professionals in the fields of Medicine, Engineering amongst others, said the Laboratory has already increased enrollment of students in the school.

The students of the school who could not hide there excitement, spoke through Gift Mathew, lauded the Kogi State Government and KGCSDA for the benevolence, promised to use the singular opportunity of the Laboratory to become better students and tomorrow’s leaders.

Highlights of the occasion was the Inauguration of the Laboratory, fitted with Computer Laboratory, and Entrepreneurship Centre by Gov. Yahaya Bello. Similarly, the Governor Inaugurated the Primary Health Care Centre and Extension of Water Pipe Network.

Similarly, the occasion witnessed the conferment of an award of excellence on the General Manager, KGCSDA for his efforts in ensuring that communities and people at the grassroots enjoy improved infrastructure.
