ICDA CAN NOT BE DISTRACTED BY MICROSCOPIC FEW ILLEGALLY CLAIMING OWNERSHIP OF THE BODY. – Abdullahi Obaje National Media Officer ICDA.

This piece is not intended to malign anyone or bring to disrepute the already fragile peace we are striving to rebuild in Igala land, but to set issues in the right perspective. First off, the ICDA is not the personal property of any single individual or an enterprise set for administration at the whims and caprice of any group but the collective patrimony of all Igala sons and daughters both home and in the diaspora.
The ICDA has of recent come under various forms of divisive attacks and criticism from certain quarters, with some going to the courts to obtain a “never” to be delivered injunction seeking to truncate the noble activities of this association. Leading the pack of this detractors and naysayers is Dr Simeon Oyigu, who by mistake though unintended, was made the erstwhile BOT chairman during the repositioning and incorporation process of this noble body aimed at greater service delivery.
This noble gesture at partnering with an assumed progressive to move the Igala nation forward has now become the albatross that is seeming to defy logical solutions. The recent visit by Dr Simeon Oyigu and his so called hatchet men to the police command in a vain attempt to stem the tide of progress and unity undertaken by the ICDA under the able leadership of Alh Sadiq Amodu Abubakar, is nothing but laughable and at best relegated to a position of ignominy. “It is an aberration of the law for a person who approached the court in his grandure of delusion to be declared an authentic board member of ICDA, to parade himself as one without the verdict of the court”, and to think a bunch of “enlightened individuals” would goof around with such a questionable character is so pathetic and this act of callous desperation calls for serious check.
This current Exco under the leadership of Alh Sadiq Amodu Abubakar, and the BOT led by Prof Stephen Ikani Ocheni is too focused on delivering the core mandate of unity and progress reposed in it by the trust of our people and spirit of our ancestors to be distracted by charlatans and mere impostors.
What, if i may ask has been the result of Dr Simeon Oyigu and his band of Co traveller’s if their score card is to be appraised? How can one who claims to be a lover of truth and honesty be the same catalyst impeding the already tangible progressive records of achievements obtained by this current administration?. The results are visible for all to see, starting from the National secretariat (Igala Unity House Anyigba), formation of a formidable bond across the 36 states and the FCT, down to the state chapters and ward level. The intensity of response to issues affecting our people has never before been recorded and it is on record that this administration has set a precedence and distinguished itself excellently regardless of aspersions being cast by the uninformed.
A house divided against itself can never stand, and when brothers fight themselves to the death a stranger inherits their estate. This we pray shall never be the case of Igala land as the olive branch has been extended to every self imposed warring faction, and a call to sheet their swords and join hands with the current legally/spiritually recognized Exco to advance our collective interest and position among the comity of nations.
Our call for a progressively egalitarian society is one which requires all hands to be on deck, with our sights set on the ball. This altruistic move is one which must succeed against all odds as it is emboldened by the blessings of God almighty, our ancestors and the land! Any group or person who pits themselves against this noble venture will have these factors to contend with, a word is said to be enough for the wise.
