BATMEDICS Treats 10,000 Residents In Kaduna Medical Outreach, Performs 212 Surgeries, Distributes Mama Kits To Pregnant Women.

BATMEDICS, a Tinubu support group committed to community health and humanitarian services, under the supervision of the Minister of Health and in collaboration with the APC Presidential Campaign Committee Medical Directorate has extended its medical outreach to Kaduna State, reaching about 10,000 beneficiaries across seven locations with free medical services, including eye screening, treatment and surgical interventions.

The outreach, which forms part of the organisation’s commitment to improving access to healthcare for underserved communities, provided medical assistance to residents who might otherwise struggle to afford essential health services.
Of the total number of beneficiaries, about 3,000 received eye screening, while 212 underwent surgeries as part of the intervention. The programme also brought medical services closer to residents across the seven locations, reducing the burden of seeking healthcare outside their communities.
The initiative underscores BATMEDICS’ focus on preventive healthcare, early detection of medical conditions and access to treatment, particularly for people from low-income households.
Speaking on the outreach, The Director-General of BATMEDICS, Dr Ojeje Onimisi, emphasised the importance of taking healthcare interventions beyond diagnosis by supporting access to treatment and other essential medical services.
He said the Kaduna outreach reflects BATMEDICS commitment to improving access to healthcare and extending medical support to communities where access to medical facilities and the cost of treatment could pose significant challenges.
She said the Kaduna outreach combined preventive cartreatment and surgical interventions to address the health needs of beneficiaries.
“Medical outreach is not just about the number of people reached; it is about making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. By taking these services to seven locations in Kaduna, BATMEDICS has helped bring essential healthcare closer to thousands of people who need it.
“The fact that 3,000 people received eye screening and 212 beneficiaries underwent surgeries demonstrates the importance of early detection and timely intervention. We remain committed to supporting initiatives that improve access to healthcare and promote the wellbeing of Nigerians,” Onyegbule said.
Some beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the intervention, describing the free medical services as timely relief amid the rising cost of healthcare.
A beneficiary, Amina Musa, said the eye screening gave her an opportunity to have her eyesight checked without having to worry about the immediate cost of accessing such a service.
“I am grateful that this programme came to our community. Many people need medical attention but cannot always afford to visit a hospital. Being screened here has given me the opportunity to know more about my eye health,” she said.
Another beneficiary, Ibrahim Sani, said the outreach offered residents an opportunity to access medical attention that might otherwise have been delayed because of financial constraints.
“I appreciate BATMEDICS for bringing the medical team closer to us. For people who do not have enough money for treatment, an intervention like this is a big help. We hope that similar programmes will continue to reach more communities,” he said.
For Fatima Abdullahi, the outreach demonstrated the value of bringing healthcare services directly to people rather than waiting for them to overcome the financial and logistical difficulties associated with hospital visits.
She called for the continuation of the initiative, noting that regular medical checks and timely treatment could help residents identify health problems before they became more serious.
BATMEDICS said the Kaduna outreach forms part of its broader commitment to community-focused interventions, with emphasis on improving access to essential medical services and supporting the wellbeing of Nigerians.
The organisation reaffirmed the importance of partnerships and sustained humanitarian efforts in addressing healthcare gaps, particularly among vulnerable populations.
