Happy Birthday to His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, Architect and Builder of Kogi’s Education Sector
I, Hon. Wemi Jones, Commissioner For Education, wish to on behalf of my humble self, the entire Management and Staff of Kogi State Ministry of Education, heartily rejoice with His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, CON, former Kogi State Governor and a man who has repositioned the State Education Sector for sustainable development on the auspicious occasion of his Birthday.
Your Excellency, it is without doubt that we in the State Ministry of Education have all the reasons to roll out the drums in celebration of you birthday.
Men like you who see education as the pedestal to all round development of a people are rare to come by.
Permit me to State reasons million of appreciation for your impact and legacy achievements in the education sector is not enough, if we choose a day this the celebrate you.
Under your tenure as Governor, the Education Sector enjoyed 30% budgetary allocation to Education, about the highest in the country and indeed higher than UNESCO’s benchmark of 26%
Your Excellency, Your approval of Education Sector Plan 2021 to 2030, Enactment of Education Law would speak always for by the generation yet unborn.
It is on record that in your tenure you established two State Universities in 4 years. The First Governor in Nigeria to do that.
Your free Education for basic and secondary schools, including payment of all internal and external examinations for public schools such as WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, JAMB, COMMON ENTRANCE, BASIC 6 and MOCK with an enabling Law fully enacted through the Kogi State House of Assembly, has written your name permanently on the sands of time.
That your administration revolutionise the Science Education in Secondary schools via STEM, Construction of GYB Model Science Secondary Schools across the State, amongst several other achievements too numerous to mention, makes today that calls for celebration.
Your Excellency, birthdays comes only once in a year. For some of us that you have mentored and groomed, it offers us the opportunity to appreciate the Divine Grace of God upon your life for your outstanding repositioning of Kogi State for greatness, particularly the Education Sector.
That we are proud of you and your indelible footprints on the education sector is an understatement. The present generation and those coming remain grateful for your landmark achievements.
Once again, accept the esteemed congratulations of all of us in the Ministry of Education, as we join other numerous well wishers across the globe in celebrating the man who repositioned the Education Sector and Builder of Modern Kogi State
