Hamza Ibrahim Baba Applauds Steve Ogwuche Jr. for ‘Leading With a Difference’

As Nigerians from all walks of life and across the country continue to eulogize Steve Ogwuche Jr. for his authorship of Leading With a Difference, a book profiling the impactful leadership contributions of about 64 leaders across various sectors and industries in Nigeria and Africa, the National Programme Manager, Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme (GEEP), Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Hamza Ibrahim Baba, has joined the growing list of Nigerians commending the author.
In a message made available to journalists shortly after the official unveiling and launch of the book at the Dr. Mariam Babangida Centre for Women Development, Garki, Abuja, on Tuesday, October 5, 2026, Hamza Ibrahim Baba commended the author for painstakingly documenting the leadership qualities, efforts, and contributions of notable Nigerians to nation-building.
He described Steve Ogwuche Jr.’s initiative to identify and recognize Nigerians who have “led with a difference,” particularly Barr. Ahmed Ismael, OON, the Chief Executive Officer of the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas and Electric Vehicle (PI-CNG EV), who has provided inspirational and transformational leadership as “marvellous and fantastic,” noting that the unveiling and launch marked a significant watershed.
Responding to questions on the impact of the Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme under the Tinubu-led Federal Government, the National Programme Manager explained that the programme, a key component of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA), comprises TraderMoni, MarketMoni, and FarmerMoni, which were designed to cater to vulnerable Nigerians.
According to him, since his appointment, the programme has reached a sizeable number of farmers, market women, and petty traders across the country.
He disclosed that more than 700,000 beneficiaries in these categories have been registered across all the Local Government Areas of the country, according to data on the programme’s dashboard.
Hamza Ibrahim Baba added that efforts are currently underway to provide credit facilities to those who have been duly enumerated, stressing that the initiative remains focused on improving access to economic opportunities for vulnerable Nigerians.
