The Edo State Police have arrested one Matthew Adams who is said to be allegedly involved in the kidnapping and attempted murder of Mr. Chukwudi Christian and Mr. Nasiru George at Uzuala Quarters in Ekperi village, in Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo State .

Police Public Relations officer,( PRO),of the command, said, the suspects kidnapped, blind fold and took the their victims to a forest.
Kontongs , said “one of the victims while in the forest identified the kidnappers, immediately the kidnappers noticed that they were been identified, they conspired among themselves, shot the two victims and abandoned them in the pool their blood thinking they were dead.
“The victim were able to crawl to safety, and reported the incident to the Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of the command.
According to him, “On receipt of the report ,the operatives immediately swung into action and arrested Matthew Adams ‘M’ (38) who made useful confession that led to the arrest of Alex Ogbonna at Auchi park after being lured from Abuja for another kidnapping operation.
He said,” Ugheoke Omokhoi Thomas was arrested in Ekperi village near Fugar who is the supplier of arms used by the gang of kidnappers and he is also alleged to be a coordinator of Aiye Cult Group in Ekperi/Anegbete and environs.
Adding that, Abubakar Abdulaheem who is the gangs native doctor was also arrested after being equally controlled to a spot around Imieagba Community by the gang leader to come and fortify him for another kidnapping operation”.
“The suspects will be arraigned in court after investigation is concluded. Item recovered from the Suspects include cut to size gun, 6 live cartridges, assorted charms of different types.
Meanwhile, the Command also arrested the duo of Rich Kelvin ‘M’ (24), Odiase Clinton ‘M’ (19) in Aviama Community off Upper Sakponba in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo State for fraud using fake bank alert.
Kontongs said, “the suspects were arrested after serious complaint Received from different members of the public about some syndicate who specialize in going into different stores, purchase various items with fake bank alerts there by deceiving their unsuspected victims.
“On receipt of the various complaints the police operatives of Anti Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of the command immediately swung into action and arrested the duo in their hideout in Benin City.
Items recovered from them are; Iphone 12promax valued at N450,000.00 and an Iphone XS valued at N250,000.00 was recovered from the suspects. Which was bought with a fake bank alert of N700,000.00 in Mr. Nosakhare Oviasogie (not real name) shop in benin city.
