DINO MELAYE CAMPAIGN WALK IN KABBA: A SECURITY THREAT ON KABBA COMMUNITY AND REQUEST FOR PROMPT SUSPENSION.

I am writing to respectfully bring to your attention, a matter of significant concern that calls for careful consideration and urgent security action. It is with deep regret that I must request the suspension of the proposed Dino Campaign walk in Kabba, scheduled to hold on Friday 11th August, 2023.
2.The primary reasons for making this request are twofold: the recent loss of a prominent member, who was the candidate of PDP House of Representatives for Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency for the February 25th 2023 general elections ,the person of Hon Chief Olaiya Olobatoke and the prevailing atmosphere of potential crisis within the party.
3.Firstly, it is with profound sorrow that I inform you of the passing away of [Hon Chief Olaiya Olobatoke, a highly respected and valued member of our party, who served our party with unwavering dedication and commitment, contributing significantly to our party’s objectives and initiatives. The news of his death has left our party members and the community at large in a state of mourning. During this period of bereavement, it would be both insensitive and inappropriate to proceed with any political activities in Kabba as members of the party as well as the community is still in state of mourning.
4.Secondly, there is a growing concern within the PDP Kabba Chapter regarding potential internal conflicts and divisions that may escalate into a crisis. In light of recent developments and heightened tensions, holding a political walk at this juncture could exacerbate the existing discord and possibly lead to undesirable outcomes. It is in the best interest of the party and the broader community to ensure that a conducive and peaceful environment is established before any large-scale gathering takes place.
5.Furthermore, we cannot ignore the prevailing crises within the Party that have arisen in the Kabba Bunu/Ijumu which started during the congress of the just concluded PDP primaries in the month of April, 2023 as well as the governorship primary election, where many delegates were denied rights to vote. The safety and well-being of our party members and the community are of paramount importance to us. Given the sensitive nature of the current situation and the need to maintain a peaceful and secured environment, it would be unwise and inappropriate to proceed with the Dino campaign walk at this time, until all these grievances are smoothly resolved.
6. In light of the above, we kindly request your understanding and cooperation in suspending the proposed Dino campaign walk in Kabba until such time as the security situation stabilizes and our party members have had an opportunity to properly grieve and honor the memory of our departed colleague.
7.We appreciate your understanding in this matter and trust that you share our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of all concerned. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will communicate any updates or changes to the Dino campaign walk plans as soon as it is deemed appropriate.
8.As you may know, the kabba Youths are law abiding citizens, Dino campaign walk at this point in time is tantamount to crisis that may be beyond control, so I want to urge all the relevant authorities to call Dino to order and immediately halt this plan for the sake of peace in the community.
9.Thank you for your anticipated understanding and prompt action on this matter as you have usually done.
Yours in Nation Building,
Hon Prince Oluwakayode Emmanuel Eseyin
PDP Youth Leader
Kabba Bunu,
Kogi state
