Kogi Central Senator Hits Ground Running, Empowers 100 Constituents, Assures of More Empowerment


 

Barely two months after inauguration at the National Assembly, the Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Abubakar Ohere has empowered no fewer than 100 of his constituents across Kogi Central Senatorial District.

 

The empowerment followed a 15-day programme which took place at the 600 Capacity GYB CBT Centre Agassa, was centred on capacity building and production of liquid soap, detergent, air freshener and other toiletries, started on 20th July and ended on August 9th, 2023.

 

Participants at the programme were drilled on various skills required to sustain business outfits in Nigeria contemporary society, financial intelligence and right business attitude towards customer, testified that the training has afforded them the opportunity to unlearn and re-learn basic enterpreneurial skills.

Each session of the programme was accompanied by practicals where all the participants were made to demonstrate what they have learnt under strict supervision of facilitators.

 

Upon effective demonstration of basic understanding of the act of producing detergent, liquid soap, air freshener and other toiletries, the participants which were made up of 80% women, Senator Ohere gave them token and chemicals needed to start business of their own.

Eventually, 40 participants went home with complete chemical to produce liquid soap, 30 went with complete chemical for production of detol while the rest 30 participants also went home with chemical to produce air freshener.

The joyous beneficiaries who appreciated Engr. Abubakar Sadiku Ohere, said they were privileged to have been selected amongst multitude that are qualified for the training.

They urged the lawmaker to deepen his act of giving back to the society through dividends democracy and facilitating physical projects to the Constituency.
