
Chief Olayinka Segelu hails Senator Abatemi-Usman at 55

A Germany-based Nigeria-born businessman, politician and ICT consultant, Chief Olayinka Segelu Akintola Oladimeji, has sent his felicitations to Distinguished Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman on the occasion of his 55th birthday.
The Aare Akinrogun of Igbo Elerinland and Environs, Chairman/CEO of YSEG Hotels and Suites in Ibadan and an erstwhile aide of the Senator, described his former boss as an independent politician and quintessential leader who made significant impact on the lives his constituents during his sojourn in the Senate between 2011 and 2015.
He noted that as the youngest Senator at the time, Abatemi-Usman, a calm, forthright gentleman politician showed great vibrancy, enthusiasm and maturity in the discharge of his legislative duties to the admiration of many.
In a statement issued to congratulate Senator Abatemi-Usman, the YSEG Hotel Ibadan helmsman and Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, said he learnt a lot under the tutelage of the ex-parliamentarian.
The statement reads: “I congratulate Distinguished Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman as he clocks 55 today.
“Distinguished Senator Abatemi-Usman is a visionary and result-oriented leader who brought depth, discipline, and focus to legislative governance during his tenure in the National Assembly. He distinguished himself as a calm but highly strategic lawmaker, committed to the principles of effective representation, constituency development, and national progress.
“He is widely respected for his intellectual approach to governance, his ability to manage complex political and legislative matters, and his consistent dedication to the service of his people.
“I had the honour and privilege of serving as his Personal Assistant (PA) between 2011 to 2015 at the National Assembly, Abuja. In that capacity, I worked closely with him at the core of legislative operations and constituency engagements.
“That period remains a defining phase in my professional journey, as I was directly exposed to high-level political leadership, decision-making processes, and national policy engagements under his guidance. Despite the distance that has kept us apart, the professional relationship and experience remain deeply valuable and respectfully acknowledged.
“Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman is a leader who combines discipline with vision. He maintained a structured, performance-driven work environment and expected excellence from those around him, which fostered professionalism and accountability among his team.
