2026 WORKERS’ DAY: KOGI SOLID MINERALS COMMISSIONER HAILS ODODO’S “TOP NOTCH” SUPPORT FOR WORKERS’ WELFARE
The Kogi State Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Gegu, has commended Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for his consistent focus on improving the welfare of workers in the state.
In a statement issued in Lokoja on Thursday, Engr. Bashiru applauded the resilience of Kogi workers and described the governor’s approach to workers’ welfare as “top notch.”
He said Governor Ododo has remained true to his campaign promises and is making the state proud through deliberate policies aimed at strengthening the workforce.
The Commissioner pointed to prompt salary payments, the disbursement of leave bonuses, and the implementation of promotions as commendable measures that have helped empower workers across the state.
Engr. Bashiru also acknowledged the dedication of workers in delivering essential services despite ongoing challenges. He encouraged them to sustain hard work and accountability while maintaining a constructive relationship between labour and government.
According to him, Workers’ Day is more than a date on the calendar, as it reflects the struggles, sacrifices, and progress of the labour force. He expressed the solidarity of workers with Governor Ododo for standing by them.
He concluded by praying for the success of the Ododo administration and for workers in the state, saying: “May your hard work be recognized and rewarded, and may you find fulfillment and joy in all that you do.”
