
FUOYE VC , Ogunwole commends Gov Oyebanji on Road Projects, Solar Streetlights at 23rd Inaugural Lecture

The Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE), Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, has commended the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Biodun Oyebanji for the remarkable transformation in road infrastructure and installation of solar-powered streetlights across Ekiti State.
Prof. Ogunwole gave the commendation during the university’s 23rd Inaugural Lecture, where dignitaries from government, academia, and other sectors gathered to witness the academic event.
Speaking at the occasion, the Vice-Chancellor applauded the governor for prioritizing infrastructural development, noting that the improved road network has enhanced movement and made transportation easier for residents and visitors across the state.
He specifically highlighted the impact of the solar-powered streetlights installed on major roads, saying they have greatly improved security and night-time travel.
In his words, “I can now travel at night from work on a smooth road. Thank you, Mr Governor for the good works “
According to him, the development has made it possible for people to drive comfortably at night without fear, as roads are now better illuminated.
The Don said the ongoing projects under the present administration reflect a clear commitment to progress and better living conditions for the people of the state.
He added that the efforts of the governor have continued to place Ekiti State on the path of sustainable growth, while creating an enabling environment for education, business, and investment.
The Vice-Chancellor also appreciated the support of the state government towards tertiary institutions, stressing that collaboration between government and educational institutions remains vital to development.
