The All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for Kogi West Senatorial District, Hon. Sunday Stephen Karimi, has emphasised that Yagba Federal Constituency is most deserving to be in the red chamber in year’s general election.
The Senate hopeful stated this today on the sideline of the Yagba APC Ward executives and stakeholders interactive meeting with Governor Yahaya Bello at the Government House, Lokoja, Kogi State capital.
According to him, the people of Yagba federal Constituency have been yearning for so long to have one of their own as Senator representing Kogi West, arguing that they have been marginalised since the return of nation’s democracy in 1999.
Hon Karimi disclosed, “ my people have been longing for this opportunity, and now they are on the verge of actualising this through Governor Yahaya Bello. We are poised to deliver for the APC in 2023”.
He revealed that the APC is reaching out to all the people of the Senatorial district, including leaders of other political parties with a view to secure overwhelming victory for the party in the general elections next year.
Upbeat of victory for his party at all levels, Hon Karimi maintained that, “ the senate has to come to Yagba federal Constituency. The remaining two federal Constituencies have had their turn, after Yagba, Lokoja and Kogi-Koton-Karfe are waiting. The quest for Yagba in the senate is all about equity, fairness and justice”.
On what he would differently if elected into the senate, Hon Karimi said, “ for Nigeria to move forward, some of the ‘ no-go-areas in the first schedule of the constitution have to be looked into. These no-go-areas are core on the nation’s problems, especially on security and funding of projects. There is the need to devolve power to other tiers of government”.
