A coalition of civil society groups consisting of youths known as Greater Kogi Movement Alliance (GKMA) on Saturday urged the electorate to vote for the candidate of the Action Alliance (AA), Mr. Olayinka Braimoh as the next governor based on the plan and programme contained in his manifesto aimed at bringing development and prosperity to the state.
The Secretary of the Coalition, Comrade Adamu Dan Onoja told newsmen during a press briefing held In Lokoja, the state capital that voting for Olayinka Braimoh would translate to sustainable development, improved standard of living, and empowerment of the citizenry and other residents.
According to him, Braimoh as a young, successful entrepreneur will bring his diverse experience and rich experience from the private sector into governance and stimulate infrastructure renewal, economic development, human capital development, and job creation.
“Olayinka is a youthful, well-educated, and resourceful person who has prepared himself for the task of governance, especially now that the state is yearning for a development-driven, focused, and discipline leader.
“We are fortunate to have him contesting at this material time. His rich background is what is needed to reposition the state for genuine development. Anyone who interacts with him would know he is the best among all the candidates cleared to contest in the November 11 elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in terms of competence, dedication, and trustworthiness.
“Of cause, there are competing needs in the face of scarce resources, but there is no gainsaying that Olayinka Braimoh has what it takes to change the narrative in our state by raising the bar of governance”, he added.
The coalition described Braimoh as the right peg in the right hole and promised that its members would mobilize youths and women across the 21 local government areas in the state for the AA candidate.
Onoja further appealed to the people of Kogi State to shun the Politics of tribe or religion while making competence and merit the primary considerations for deciding who to vote for.
