Yagba West Chairman Receives New Community Police Constables, Stresses Safety of Lives, Properties


 

The Executive Chairman of Yagba West Local Government, Chief Pius Kolawole on Tuesday in Odo-Ere received Yagba West contingent of the newly trained Police constables of the federal government community police Ininitiative.

The newly trained constables who for a period of about 4 weeks have gone for Police Training in Ilorin, Kwara State arrived Odo-Ere, the headquarters of Yagba West Local government at about 3:30pm and was giving a rousing welcome by Hon. Pius Klawole, the Executive chairman of Yagba West Local government, Chief Olutayo Kayode, the newly appointed secretary to the local government, the Divisional Police Officer of Odo-Ere Police Division, S.P. Akinsanmi Oluyilami, the Departmental security Officer, Emmanuel Afolabi, Hon. Tunji Aro, Hon. Kayode Abolaji and other dignitaries witnessed the event.

Hon. Pius who inspected the brief parade by the constables congratulated them for the success of their training and safe return home in a complete number without recording any casualty or loss of life.

Pius on behalf of the good people of Yagba West expressly commended the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello for his commitment to the fight against insecurity and for giving opportunities to the participants from Yagba West to benefit from the program. Saying the state government has once again demonstrated his love for the people of Yagba West giving the quantum of resources expended to making the program a success.

The chairman while commending the new officers for their rescilence in training urged them to bring their experience to bear in the fight against crimes and criminalities particularly in Yagba West, Kogi State and Nigeria in general.

“You have been selected, trained and now waiting to be deployed to your various duty posts and any other places that you may be deployed, I enjoined you to take your assignment very seriously with absolute commitment to the service of our people.”

“Our collective resolves to stamped out crimes and criminal elements out of our society as constantly demonstrated by His Excellency, the Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello is to be taking seriously. I urged you therefore to be good ambassadors of your people” Pius said.

In his own remarks, the Odo-Ere Divisional Police Officer, SP Akinsanmi Oluyinlami reminded the new constables of the federal government intentions for Community Policing initiative and the resources expended on their training and other logistics for the take off of the program. Urged them to be effective and efficient in the discharge of their expected duties.

He assured the people that the Police and other security outfits in Yagba West will work in synergy with the new constables to achieve a crime-free society.

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Hon. Pius Kolawole had summoned the HOD works of Yagba West council to Egbe Divisional Police Station where a Bulldozer belonging to the council had been abandoned to decay by previous administration, ordered that the earth moving equipment be immediately repaired and moved to the council premises within 72 hours.

The Executive Chairman who expressed his displeasure over how assets belonging to the people of Yagba West were allowed to filtered away by past administration, vows to commence the process of recovering all assets of the people of Yagba west from looters of the people’s commonwealth.
