As the world marked World Food Day a none governmental organization know as Standard life Organization has put smiles on the faces of the indigents and less previlege of the society to commemorate the essence of the day.
The Organization were at the Holy Cross Mission road in Benin City the State capital. and other strategic locations where there are
multitude of Bergers in the state to share different varieties of food and bottle water with them.
Speaking on the essence of the day, Head of Department of Strategic Planning Standard Life Organization, Nosawema Omoregbe, said Standard life Organization is a business of attending to those who are financially disadvantage in the society by empowering economically disadvantaged women financially and building their capacity and also they deem it feet to give out food to those who are hungry.
Mr Omoregbe said standard life also empowered poor women especially in the rural areas for them to be employed by themselves and contribute meaningfully to their families as well the organization believed with this strategy poverty can be eradicated from the society.
Also speaking, the Operation Team Leader, Theodora Obora, said is not just about world food day to feed those who are hungry they also empowered women, give out scholarship and also carried out medical outreach.
According to her, Standard Life Organization is into poverty alleviation especially in the rural communities to bring people out of poverty.
