We’ll Support EFCC in Riding Kwara of Cyber Criminals” – CP

The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Amienbo Tuesday Assayomo psc+ on Tuesday, September 14, 2021 pledged support for efforts by the EFCC in ensuring zero tolerance for cybercrime and other forms of corruption in the State.

He stated this when he led top officers of the Command on a courtesy visit to the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ilorin.

CP Assayomo said his visit was to reciprocate the hands of friendship extended to his office by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC, when he assumed duty as the new Commissioner of Police in Kwara last month. He noted that, “such a gesture and collaboration is what is needed by agencies of government to succeed on their mandate”.

According to him, “I am here today to build more on the already established mutual and cordial relationship between the Nigerian Police Force and the EFCC. It is a known fact that crime fighting is a critical assignment that requires the support of all stakeholders in the security sector. There is need for us to strengthen our ties because no organisation globally can fight crime especially cybercrime, terrorism financing and money laundering alone. We need each other to succeed.”

The CP lamented the youth involvement in internet related fraud otherwise known as cybercrime. He noted that corruption and other forms of crime can only be won through collaborative efforts by law enforcement agencies.

In his response, the Zonal Commander, EFCC, Ilorin, Usman Muktar, appreciated the CP and members of his entourage for the visit, while commending his efforts in securing the State.
