In her bid to ensuring operational standards, Kogi Enterprise Development Agency (KEDA) has met with the Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON) to seek working collaboration for the benefits of Small and Medium Enterprises in the state.
The KEDA MD/CEO, Hajiya Rekiya Onaivo Sanni represented by the Executive Director of Operations, Mr. Akinola John and other members of staff met with Kogi state coordinator of SON in Lokoja on Tuesday.
In his remark, KG-CARES Head of DLI 3, Mr. Daniel Ogu said that the meeting was necessary to learn about the standards required by law in the operations of KEDA as an agency that provides support for SMEs in Kogi State.
Mr Daniel explained KEDA’s commitment to promote consumer confidence and global competitiveness. Being assured of the major roles of SON in quality assurance and certification of businesses, KEDA wants to leverage on these for enhanced output for Kogi SMEs.
SON’s Kogi State coordinator, Engr. Alex Dawudu said the mission of the organization was to promote consumer confidence through standardization and quality assurance of Nigerian made products.
The coordinator while acknowledging the role of SMEs in the development of the economy emphasized the need to imbibe knowledge base to ensure all standards are met.
He said that since SON retains the technical know how required to ensure adherence to quality assurance and standards, KEDA as its client must collaborate with the organization to drive entrepreneurial growth in Kogi state.
Engr Alex assured the delegation that SON was always open for consultation and feedback for the benefits of Kogi state enterprises, noting that if local products met the required standards, they could be marketed anywhere in the world…. Continue reading
