History as Obaro, Abejide Perform Foundation Laying of Okun Unity House

History was made on Thursday as the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi and the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency, Elder Leke Abejide performed the foundation laying ceremony of Okun Unity House.

The ceremony which was well attended by Traditional Rulers, illustrious sons and daughters of Okun land and leadership of Okun Development Association (ODA).

National President of the Association, Barr. Femi Mokikan said the Project belongs to the entire Okun nation irrespective of their Political and religious divides.

“Let me emphasize that this Project cuts across the Political or District divide. Let us put politics aside and confront This as a common cause that is worth supporting.”

According to him, a mega Fund raising ceremony for the completion of the Unity Hall will soon be organised.

In his words, “After this Foundation Laying and Start off of the project, there will be a Major Fund-raising Event to source for over three hundred million naira (#300,000,000.00) with which to complete the building and equip it for use. Every Okun man and woman, young or old, must seek the face of God for enablement so as not to be left out in the list of donors. We all saw what our brothers did across the niger recently in support of the installation of their new royal father. i believe we will prove a point with ours when the time comes.”

Speaking, the the Federal Lawmaker described the ceremony as historic, saying a Unity Hall for Okun land is long overdue.

Elder Abejide, who noted that the Idea of the Hall was thoughtful, explained that it will serves as a symbol of Unity and Togetherness of Okun People both at Home and in the Diaspora.

The Lawmaker while donating a sum of N10mn for the commencement of work, advised the National Executives of ODA to reach out to other Federal and State Legislators for their contributions.
