Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael To Reinvigorate Security Architecture in Kabba-Bunu LGA, Meets Kogi State Vigilante Group Kabba Command
As part of continued efforts of the Kogi State government to nip crimes and criminality in the bud, the Kabba-Bunu LGA Caretaker Chairman, Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael Makinde on Saturday, assured of his resolution not to shy away from governance and provision of adequate security for the lives and property of residents.
He gave the assurance, during an enlarged security meeting with the Kogi State Vigilante Group, Kabba Command in Kabba, held at the Council Secretariat, Kabba, which also recorded the attendance of the Local Government Area Secretary; Hon Oyenibi Omojola (Ajon), DSO; Mr David Olorunleke and other aides to the council chairman.
At the meeting, the chairman who stressed that security was one of the cardinal points of his administration, also pointed out that security also formed the content of his transformative roadmap to development in the local government area.
He said: “The reason we are in this meeting today is that security is one of my topmost priorities, which he charged the officers to be more dedicated, loyal and to show great commitment to duty.
So, If Kabba-Bunu LGA is to continue on the path to economic growth and development, then, the local’s security architecture must be maintained.”
The caretaker chairman expressed his satisfaction to the Kogi State Vigilante Group Kabba Command for their tireless sacrifices in ensuring we have a well safe and secured environment.
Also, he promised the Kogi State Vigilante Group of his patronage and assured the officers of an improved remuneration that will motivate them to service.
Hon (Barr.) Zacchaeus Dare Michael pledges his support to the Kabba Command and advises the officers not to trade security issues with anything that under his administration he will ensure they have more equipment that will make their operations very easy.
“I will like to take this opportunity to thank our gallant officers because they are trying their best. They have been responsive but there is still a lot to do.
“I have said it before that security cannot work without intelligent gathering and we cannot gather intelligence without getting closer to the people.
The KSVG Commandant, Mr Abubakar, in his submission thanked the listening leader for arranging this very important security meeting which he assured the chairman on the readiness of his officers to double their commitments and he requested for collaborative efforts of the traditional rulers, government officials and uniformed men.
He explained that the challenge they have is lack of weapons which have limited their scope of operations. He equally said that their motivation in terms of monthly remuneration is very low.
Conclusively, the caretaker chairman urged the Kogi State Vigilante Group Kabba Command to be up and doing that all their challenges as regards; inadequate of weapons, salaries and other logistics for better intelligence gatherings and operations would be attended to in due course.
