“We Are Ready to Take Over Lugard House’’ — Kogi PDP Issues Certificates of Return to 2027 Candidates

The Kogi State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has issued Certificates of Return to all its candidates for the 2027 general election, declaring that the party is fully prepared to contest every legislative seat in the state.
Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Friday, the State Chairman of the PDP, Hon. Muhammed Sanni Gambo, said the party would field candidates for all National and State Assembly positions.
Hon. Gambo disclosed that the PDP is contesting the 3 Senatorial seats, 9 House of Representatives seats, and all seats in the Kogi State House of Assembly, including the constituency that was previously suppressed.
He said the move reflects the party’s renewed push to present candidates across every electoral unit ahead of the polls.
Describing the PDP as a party now “repositioned to take over the state,” the chairman assured Kogites of better days if the party is elected.
“We are ready for the election. We have fielded a star-studded team, made up of men and women who have been tested, trusted and with integrity,” Gambo said.
“Our party remains the party to beat in the state. We will win seats in the National and State Assembly election, after which we will occupy Lugard House.”
The PDP chairman also took a swipe at the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, urging it to “prepare to pack her bags from Lugard House,” saying Kogites have not hidden their preference for the PDP.
He urged all candidates to “hit the ground running” by reaching out to voters individually ahead of the lifting of the ban on campaigns by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The PDP Chairman said issuance of Certificates of Return signals the formal recognition of the party’s candidates as it begins early mobilization for the 2027 elections.
