Unemployment: NDE Trains 30 Enviropreneurship Graduands on Basic Business Skills

In its efforts to reduce unemployment to the barest minimum, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE), has organised a- 4-day capacity building training for 30 Enviropreneurship Graduands in Kogi state on business skills.

The initiative is geared towards enabling beneficiaries to be self-employed and impact on the economy of their immediate society.

The Director General of NDE, Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo represented by the Kogi state coordinator, Mallam Abubakar Zakari while speaking during the commencement of the training in Lokoja on Thursday, gave an assurance that the training will boost the participant’s knowledge in setting up businesses of their own for self-reliant.

The Director General commended President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration in Nigeria for its doggedness in the fight against unemployment.

He also hailed Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi state for providing adequate security to boost accelerated development and enabling environment for socioeconomic activities in the state to thrive.

He urged youths across the country to shun cultism, thurggery and other social vices that could ruin their career.

“Youths across the country should avail themselves of the federal government intervention programmes tailored towards improving their living standard” the Director General further admonished.

Also speaking during the event, the Director of Small Scale Enterprises Department of the NDE, Mr. Apakasa Sunday David who was represented by Mrs Chikodi Ike, called on the participants to make good use of the opportunity as white collar jobs are difficult to come by.

According to the Director “No knowledge is small, use this rare previledge to better your life and bold steps to do some meaningful that will touch on the lives of others as well”

The facilitator of the programme, Mrs Monica Abuh from NDE headquarters, Abuja charged the participants to take their destinies in their hands and make good use of the opportunity.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Bola Omoniyi applauded President Buhari for fulfilling his promise and desire to tackle unemployment in Nigeria and expressed gratitude to government in its quest to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the down throdden.
