For a man who lived a life of dedicated and committed service, a lover of peace, humble, amiable and gentle to be slain by violent ransom- seeking kidnappers is a testimony of the painful paradox that characterize our nation today. Dr Oshadumo rose to the acme of his career as Chief Lecturer in the College of Education sector of the nation’s tertiary education system. We served together on the Committee that set up the College of Education (Technical) in Kabba where he desevedly became its pioneer Provost. I recall that we travelled together to the Yaba College of Technology , Lagos, along with other members, to understudy the system and structure. He was the technical expert on the committee. He did the job with total dedication and selflessness as we were hardly materially rewarded for the task. He was humorous, humble, amiable and genial. He died amid rescue violence when he should die with his head gently laid on his soft pillow. When will certainty, coherence and peace visit our beleagured nation again? May Dr Oshadumo’s peaceful soul rest perfectly in peace. May his family find fortitude to carry the weight of this grievous loss. Sunre o, an Okun patriot.
