
Ebullient community development enthusiast and Chairman, Okun Development Union (ODA) Lagos/ South West, Chief Amos Akere Owoniyi is among eminent Nigerians to be honoured with the Friend of Ogidi Award on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
The conferment of the award will take place at the soar away Ogidi Day Festival holding that day in Ogidi, Ijumu Local Government Area, Kogi State.
The Director-General, Ogidi Day Festival, Mr. Tunde Ipinmisho who announced this Abuja said Akere was being honoured for being an unrelenting supporter of the community and active partaker in its affairs.
He said apart from being a regular face at previous Ogidi Day Festivals, Akere had every opportunity demonstrated his goodwill towards the community.
Ipinmisho said Ogidi was a grateful community that does not forget those who stand by her and wish her well.
Prominent traditional rulers, His Royal Majesty, the Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Traditional Council as well as the Alayemore of Ido-Osun, Olojudo Obalufon Adedapo Aderemi would also bag the award.
Others are the Chairman/Chief Executive, Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd); the Director-General, Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), Mr. Folorunsho Coker and a retired Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) director, the Galadima Garin Nupe, Arc Danjuma Galadima.
Also listed for the Friend of Ogidi Award are the Iyalode of Aiyetoro-Gbedde, Chief (Mrs.) Tolani Salawu, one time Special Adviser to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Arc Usman Danjuma Yakawu and the Chairman, Ijumu Local Government/ALGON Chairman, Kogi State, Alhaji Taufiq Isah.
