Staff of Kogi Solid Minerals Ministry Welcomes Commissioner With Rousing Reception, As Engr. Bashiru Resumes Office.
… Assures Gov. Ododo will meet people’s expectations.
The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Bashiru Gegu was today received to a rousing welcome by staff of the Ministry as he resumes office.
Engr. Bashiru promised to hit the ground running, expressed confidence that with the foundation laid in the solid minerals sector in the last tenure under former Gov. Yahaya Bello, the administration of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo will begin to reap the dividends sowed in the past four years.
” In this dispensation, we will be working to achieve a One mineral for each of the 21 local government areas of the State “, said the solid minerals advantage of the State would be tapped to it fullest.
The Commissioner thanked former Gov. Yahaya Bello who beamed his searchlight on him that made Gov. Ododo to appoint him again.
Engr. Bashiru described Gov. Ododo humble and a humility personified personality, described him as a worthy successor of former Gov. Bello.
” Gov. Ododo has what it takes to meet with the yearnings and aspirations of the people despite all the unprecedented achievements of former Gov Bello”.
He thanked the staff of the Ministry of Solid minerals, said their major responsibility in this new administration is to create and enhance revenue generation for the State.
” Despite the challenges faced in the last four years owing to bureaucracy, we have learnt so much in the last tenure. This is the time to reap what has been Laboured for”.
” The present administration will consolidate on what was done in the last term”, urged for a template from the staff of the Ministry to enable the Ministry serve the State better towards increased revenue.
Engr. Bashiru assured that the Ministry will be an envy of all other Ministry in the new administration, urged for innovativeness on the path of the staff.
In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Hannah Ujah, described the Commissioner as a goal getter, expressed appreciation to Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo for reappointing him back to the Ministry to finish what he has started.
” In this dispensation, we will dig deep into the solid minerals sector of the State. We are praying for you, for more wisdom”, and we have no doubt in our mind that you will meet the expectations of the Governor.
The staff offered prayers for the Commissioner to achieve more success in the new administration and for the administration of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo to meet the expectations of the people.
