Students across the Country have been admonished to report cases of sexual abuse against the Boy Child.
Eunice Abimbola Agbogun, Executive Director Challenged Parenthood Initiative, (CPI) made appeal on Friday at Good Shepherd Anglican Academy while speaking on Pay Attention to Him, (PATH) project in collaboration with Millennium Fellowship.
Agbogun lamented on the high statistics of sexual abuse against the Boy Child across the globe, stressing that, such cases has been under reported because of fear of stigmatization.
She narrated that the opposite sex also take advantage of the Male Child hence the need to embark on aggressive campaign to correct the misconception that it is only Girls are sexually abused ignoring that of the opposite sex.

“Your Parent love you so much that is why they brought you. Don’t be deceived by any individual who intends to entire you with material things just to abuse you sexually or in any form. Women also takes advantage of Boys because you People are also vulnerable. That is why we have come to your school to enlignten you student on sexual abuse against the Boy Child. If anyone touches your private part, report quickly without any fear.
Earlier, Ola-Dahunsi Mercy Tomishola, the project manager of the Pay Attention To Him (PATH) project, a Millennium Fellow of the class of 2022, while addressing the students said it is on record that 1 out of every 10 male Children are sexually abused before they clock the age of 13.
According to her, there is need for collective efforts from critical stakeholders to reduce the negatives trend, adding that, there is need for the Boy Child to always speak out and work on their mental health as being vulnerable doesn’t make them less of boys.
While reiterating that the Boy Child needs the same attention as Girls, Ola-Dahunsi asserted that, sexual abuse is not less harmful in Boys than Girls.
She reminded them to keep note on of May 16th every year, as a day set aside for the Boy Child, just as Ola-Dahunsi admonished them to reamain focused on their education and be smart in managing their finances for a brighter future.
Responding, the Principal of Good Shepherd Anglican Academy Olusegun Otitoju while eulogizing the organization for taking a both step to sexual abuse against the Boy Child said the PATH project is a call for balance among the two gender.
