
Sen. Karimi urges Kogi West citizens to shun planned August 1st protest.

The Senator, Representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Sunday Karimi has made an appeal to citizens particularly, youths of Kogi West to shun the planned protest slated to begin from August 1st.
The Senator in a statement described the administration of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu as already taken the necessary steps to cushion the economic challenges.
He pointed out that protest has never been a credible means of finding solution to any form of challenge, said the president and Gov. Ahmed Ododo are working resolutely towards reconstruction and repositioning the Country and the State for prosperity.
Sen. Karimi acknowledged the obvious present economic situation, particularly as it affects the cost of living, making it unbearable for the common man that form the majority of the populace to feed, however assure that efforts are on to meet with the concerns of Nigeria, through deliberate policies.
The Senator blamed the current unfortunate situation Nigerians find itself as one that was caused over the years, but said the present administration in the country and in Kogi State is not resting on it oars in ameliorating the people’s sufferings.
Sen. Karimi called for continued dialogue between the government and the people with the hope of finding amicable solutions to all the problems affecting the nation, said protest is not an alternative, as it comes with far negative consequences.
“In reality, protest breeds rancour, hatred, violence, bloodshed and destructions as well as disrupts peaceful co-existence among the people.
“The present administration at the National and sub National level making frantic efforts in meeting with the needs of the people assured of hope of finding a lasting solution to both remote and immediate causes of the issues facing the country”.
“Sen. Karimi reminded citizens to avoid and shun any protest, bearing in mind that it is not the best option to ameliorate the present economic situation.
“We should all collectively choose the option of dialogue and understanding, which yields the best results for our progress, development and peaceful co-existence.
Sen. Karimi reiterated his resolve to continue to serve the Constituency, assuring that he will continue to identify with the people in the provision of immediate, medium and long term support for the people.
