‘SECURITY IS NON-NEGOTIABLE’: GOV. ODODO’S BILLION-NAIRA INVESTMENT MAKES KOGI ONE OF NIGERIA’S SAFEST STATES, SAYS AIDE

The Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, with Special Adviser to the Governor on Community Service, Hon. Ogah Sunday, saying Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo’s multi-billion-naira investment in security is the reason the state is now secure for investors and development.

Speaking in an interview with newsmen in Lokoja, Hon. Ogah described the huge expenditure on security architecture, logistics, and personnel welfare as “deliberate and strategic.”

“Without security, no investor will bring his hard-earned money to do business in Kogi State. That is why the Governor has made security his first line of action,” the Special Adviser stated.

He noted that the administration’s approach has repositioned Kogi as one of the most peaceful and investment-friendly states in the country. “Kogi people are happy with him, particularly because the state is today about the most safest state in Nigeria,” he said.
Hon. Ogah, who is also the founder of the ODODO is OK Movement, called on citizens to partner with government in sustaining the gains.
“Security is for everyone and a collective responsibility. We must all join hands with Governor Ododo to ensure we keep criminals out of our communities,” he urged.
Assessing the Governor’s performance across sectors, the Special Adviser said Ododo’s leadership style has set a new benchmark in governance.
“Kogi State has had Governors in time past. But I make bold to state that Ododo’s style has proven that he came when the ovation was louder,” he remarked.
“In all sectors of the State, Gov. Ododo has blazed the trail and surpassed all his campaign promises. His huge investment in the area of security is justified. We urge the Governor to sustain the feat and rid the state of all criminal elements.”
Expressing confidence ahead of 2027, Hon. Ogah said the Governor’s track record makes a second term “seamless and not negotiable.”
Hon. Ogah said since assuming office, the Ododo’s administration has prioritized security through the procurement of operational vehicles, surveillance equipment, and improved welfare for security agencies.
He concluded by saying Gov. Ododo’s strategy aligns with global best practice where investor confidence is directly tied to a stable security environment.
“Kogi is located at Nigeria’s geographic centre and bordering 10 states, has historically been a transit corridor, making its current stability significant for national commerce and logistics, Hon. Ogah maintained.
