Leadership according to John Maxwell is defined as the process through which one individual consistently exerts more influence than the others in the pursuit of group interest or organisation’s’ goals.
Undoubtedly, Rt. Hon. Karimi Sunday Steve as a former member of the National Assembly, represented the good people of Yagba Federal Constituency between 2011 and 2019 has proved himself properly fit into the concept of leadership as defined by scholars like Hainman and Scott who thinks that leadership is a process by which people are directed, guided and influence in choosing and achieving goals.(1970:57); literally implying that a leader could influence the behaviour of others and motivate their effort in any given situation in order to achieve desired goals
Therefore, relationship between leadership effectiveness and good governance cannot be overemphasized because they influence each other.
This is evident in sport. For example, if we look at a professional sports organization, the talent in the team is rarely the issue. The leadership provided by the coach and other key players makes the difference. To change the effectiveness of the team, lift up the leadership of the coach.
It should be stressed here that there is a link between leadership and governance.
In view of the above, therefore, the political space and reality in Kogi West Senatorial District could be describe as one that require effective political leadership with tested and trusted experience.
That Kogi West needed a competent and strong-willed representation at the Senate can not be a disputed fact. Hence, Honorable Karimi Sunday tested and trusted experience placed him far and above every other considerations.
He is far and better equipped with legislative acumen and unquenchable passion for legislative business.
A prolific legislator, widely exposed, Karimi stands very good chances of commanding much respect among his contemporaries, the possibility of this positioning him for leadership and becoming a ranking Senator having being in the lower house twice. This will no doubt serve our people better.
Hon. Karimi Sunday’s score cards while at the green chamber attests to his courage, competence and dexterity with which he marshalled the political waters of Yagba land.
His legislative performance, contributions to debates and other legislative assignments, the qualities of bills and motions sponsored and co- sponsored was adjudged superlative.

Hon. Karimi is a respecter of traditional and religious leadership who does not discriminate either on religious or tribal sentiments.
His capacity, courage and dexterity is certainly not in doubt because he has consistently demonstrated this both at the floor of the house and outside the legislative chambers.
It may not be out of place to describe Hon. Karimi Sunday Steve as equally qualified to be regarded as a Philanthropist, though not a noise maker, not a propagandist. But highly sympathetic to the course of uplifting humanity.
He has generously supported individuals, groups and several community developmental strides across Kogi West.
His support to the education and vocational training of indigent students across Nigeria is massive.
A man who is humbly committed to soothing and relieving the pains of many who are going through various degrees of emotional, psychological and medical distortions.
It is almost certain that with the choice of Karimi Sunday, Kogi West is set for a take off to a more prosperous destination.
His terms in the House of Representatives brought political stability to Yagba Federal Constituency which changes the political dynamics of Yagba people with added values.
Without been immodest, one can confidently with boldness, affirm that in the political history of Yagba Nation with regards to Representative democracy, Hon. Karimi Sunday Steve stands out as the only representative of the people who facilitated at least a physical project in all the 34 wards of Yagba Federal Constituency.
Fondly called ‘Mr. Project’, while others refers to him as Hon. ‘Water for Life’. Karimi who have penchant for performance will make good and positive impact in the 85 wards of of Kogi West when elected a senator.
The above is not an attempt to portray Hon. Karimi Sunday as infallible, far from that. But in the prevailing circumstance and the urgency and imperativeness of our political and economic reality, Karimi ranked best among available choices.
Without exaggeration, it is obvious that the people of Kogi West will be making a wise choice in throwing their support behind Karimi.
The time for our people to have a true sense of senatorial representation is about to debut. His humble and distinct humane personality distinguishes him.
Ladies and gentlemen, leaders of our people, the choice is laid before us now. The journey to 2023 is set, it places before us another opportunity to redefine and redesign our journey to greatness.
When we put the welfare and wellbeing of our people at the top of our priorities, when good governance and quality representation comes before primordial sentiments and frivolous considerations, then we discovered that the choice of KARIMI SUNDAY is the best. THINK KARIMI! DREAM KARIMI! TALK KARIMI! PREACH KARIMI! VOTE KARIMI.
