ALH. YAKUBU SALAWU DONGO, CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICE (CEO) GODFATHER NIG. LTD GIFTED OZI-IDU(EIYIRE) FORUM SUM OF TWO MILLION NAIRA (2,000,000).
Earlier today, Alh. Yakubu Salawu Dongo in collaboration with his brothers hosted Ozi-Idu(EIYRE) at his residence in kogi state.
The ocassion which is the 17 years rememberance prayer for their late father saw a mammoth crowd from all walks of life in attendance.
The president of Ezi-Idu Eyire clan while giving an introductory speech mentioned some of the challenges the forum is facing. Among the challenges include lack of public address system, chairs, tables and others which they needed in smooth running of the forum.
He further highlighted the fact that they have been trying unsuccessfully to have an audience with Alh. Salawu Dongo for some years.
The chairman of the forum goes further to request the assistance of the philanthropist in the area of jobs for its members, and grant for those in business, citing his past record as one of the foremost son of the land that is majorly concerned about the people welfare.
In his remarks, Alh. Saka Dongo welcome all the guest, and commended his brothers for all their effort in uplifting the community and empowering the people. He also describes Alh. Salawu Dongo as gift to the family whose good nature needs to be emulated by all.
Alh. Mohammed Dongo, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mosal Energy Nig Ltd also gave a brief address, expressing his happiness to be part of this gathering. In his speech, he said he has never had the opportunity to be in any Ebira gathering due to his commitment at all time. According to him, he is highly overwhelmed as this is his first time of witnessing such ocassion. And also lucky to have hail from Ozi-Idu(EYIRE) clan.
Alh. Abdulrahman Dongo, a Canadian resident was also in attendance. He said he has nothing much to say except to pray for having people of like minds in the society, and praise God Almighty for giving the family someone like Alh. Yakubu in his relentless effort to uphold the family virtues.
Alh. Yakubu Salawu Dongo, a top notch humanitarian, and a father figure gave a brief speech as the chief host of the ocassion. He said he is overwhelmed with joy and happiness for the calibre of people surrounding him.
Also, he described himself as a kind of person who is not swayed by clanish sentiment, but help those who comes to him seeking assistance all the time irrespective of where they came from.
He also recognises and commended the Ozi-Idu Eyire Forum for their cooperation in promoting peace, and assured them that he has taken note of all their requests.
In his usual style, he summed up his speech with donation of Two Million Naira (2,000,000) to the group in order to facilitate their aims and objectives.
He concluded his speech with appreciation to the state governor, His Excellency Alh. Ahmed Usman Ododo, for such examplary leadership in terms of prompt payment of salary to civil servant and visible security in the state.
