RE: ADC Yagba Federal constituency pulls out of council Election, says we will not embark on unending political stress

7th December, 2020

In the last 24 hours, the news making rounds on different social media channel about the pulling out of African Democratic Party(ADC), Yagba federal constituency from the next Saturday Local Government election by the stakeholders and leaders alike, came to Yagba APC family not as a surprise, but a welcome development towards an improved electoral process and an exhibition of sound political reasoning considering the political landscape.

The progressive family in Yagba land led by Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA expressed great excitement that a democratic party like ADC acknowledge the fact that in a democracy and democratic system, the onerous task is the development of the LGA and advancement of her people, perhaps, it will only be made realistic by political parties that have affections for the masses like APC and our sister ADC.

The foregoing development, which appear rare but very laudable, is a clear testament that the most acceptable, popular, inclusive and responsive political party in Yagba land in the local government is All Progressive Congress(APC) in the coming council election, hence, the ADC family allowed prevailing reasoning and smart decision to triumph needless partisanship.

Although, when a duly registered political party like ADC decides to take part in a well prepared and constitutionally organised election like the coming council poll in the state, can not be termed to be an ” unending political stress”, rather it’s a fulfilment of our democratic tenets, electoral law and constitution as a political party. As an ideologically progressive party, we accept your pull out from the election due to the dynamism of party decision.

Just as the ADC in Yagba federal constituency had taken a smart decision to pull out of the election. We therefore call on all other political parties to follow such noble path of political sportsmanship and respect, instead of planning to disrupt a democratic process via violence, ballot snatching, attacks on opposition and other undemocratic vices. Without micing words, the long hand of the law will fish out perpetrator of such preemptive evil machinations.

With this landmark decision, we promise to pursue the collective good of the people, regardless of party inclination and development of the land when we actually come out victorious at the election on Saturday, 12th December, 2020.
