A Walk To Save Democracy.
2015 till date has not been without hope in what the future holds for our country, Nigeria.
The new electoral law might become the greatest legacy of the Buhari led APC Administration and the 9th Legislative Assembly.
The two elections; Ekiti and Osun, conducted with the new electoral law are great achievements in the area of peaceful conduct in our election history, with no report of violence, but minor skirmishes which can be totally eradicated in future election.
The challenge of vote buying was however taken to a level of national embarrassment.
The greatest threat therefore to the 2023 election is the commercialization of our democracy, the ugly signs shown during party primaries, is begging all to rise and rescue our democracy. It has become the duty of all Democrats irrespective of political party affiliation, tribe, tongue and religion to team up to save our democracy.
We therefore appeal to the umpire, all players, stakeholders, electorates and Nigerian citizens alike, both at home and the Diaspora to join iWalk 2022 to say no to VOTE BUYING.
If democracy will serve its purpose, we must all uphold the dynamics that guarantee the emergence of a majority government duly elected based on the wishes and will of the people without financial inducements.
