The Provost College of Education Technical Kabba, Mrs Victoria Olusola Jagboro has described the death of Sen. Funsho Obasaju as one loss too many, said he was a man who came, saw and conquered.
The Provost in a statement said she received with grief and sadness the devastating news of the demise of one of the finest Kabba (Owe) patriotic and illustrious sons, a one time member of the Kwara State House of Assembly who represented Kabba/Bunu State Constituency between 1979 and 1983, a former Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the second republic, 1983, a sportsman and politician of great pedigree, Senator Joseph Funsho Obasaju who transited peacefully into glory at the age of 75, described the deceased as a father to all and a community leader of repute.
Mrs Jagboro described his death as a monumental loss to Kabba Community, Okun nation, Kogi state and the nation at large, said it was a big blow to humanity, noting that he remains one of the few individuals who can go extra miles for others to be comfortable.
While acknowledging Senator Obasaju as a personality that can give everything he has to please others, she described the late former Senator as a great man, an achiever, a Community leader, an educationist, administrator per excellence and an outstanding politician who distinguished himself in all areas he was privileged to serve while alive.
Mrs Jagboro commiserated with the immediate family of Senator Obasaju, the Obaro of Kabba and the people of Okun nation, prayed that God will give the people the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, prayed for the repose of his soul.
