Prince Yahaya Audu Picks NDC Senatorial Form, Pledges New Dawn for Kogi East

Prince Yahaya Audu has picked the Kogi East Senatorial Expression of Interest and Nomination Form on the platform of the Nigerian Democratic Congress, declaring that his aspiration marks the beginning of a new dawn for the people of the district.

Addressing a large crowd of supporters who accompanied him in Abuja, Audu said Kogi East had endured years of weak and purposeless representation that had relegated the zone from the centre stage of national politics. He assured that a new narrative would unfold if elected, with the people placed at the heart of governance.

“Kogi East was once a force in Nigeria’s political landscape. Today, our people are asking for representation that listens, responds, and delivers,” Audu said. “The NDC offers that alternative, and my representation will make the people the fulcrum of every decision. The suffering caused by poor leadership must end, and we will restore Kogi East to its rightful place in mainstream politics.”

He expressed gratitude for the growing support for the NDC in Kogi State, particularly across the Eastern Senatorial District, and called on citizens to embrace the party as the vehicle for purposeful representation and development.

Prince Yahaya Audu is a technocrat and grassroots mobilizer known for his quiet but consistent investment in youth empowerment, education, and community development across Kogi East. A firm believer in politics of service, he has built a reputation for accessibility and integrity, engaging directly with communities long neglected by mainstream politics. His professional background in public accounting, administration and private sector management has equipped him with the practical experience needed to translate policy into tangible results for ordinary citizens.

For many in Kogi East, Audu represents the new face of leadership the state desires— unassuming, pragmatic, and untainted by the cycle of empty promises that has defined past representation. His campaign is anchored on restoring dignity to the district through quality legislation, responsive constituency engagement, and projects that create jobs, improve infrastructure, and expand opportunities for women and youth.

With the NDC gaining momentum in Kogi State, Audu’s entry into the senatorial race is seen as a bold step toward repositioning Kogi East as a voice that matters in national discourse and a zone that delivers for its people.
