PDP Congress: Okai Fires Back at ‘Faceless’ Integrity Group Calls for Unity Among PDP Members Amidst Restructuring Efforts
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Dekina/Bassa federal constituency, and the head of Media committee for the state Congress , Austin Okai, has responded to a statement issued by a group identifying itself as the “PDP Integrity Group”. Okai described the group as “faceless” and not worthy of his response.
Okai stated that every party congress requires committees to ensure a smooth process. He noted that those who think the PDP in Kogi state is their personal property are now crying foul. He listed various committees set up by the party, including media, venue, security, and accommodation committees.
Okai emphasized that politics is a multifaceted game and that the party must be repositioned for better opposition activities in the state, which will benefit the citizens. He assured party faithful and contenders that the congress will be free, fair, and rancor-free. Okai also called on other party members to return, promising equal opportunities for all.
Okai’s response comes as the PDP in Kogi state prepares for its congress, aimed at repositioning and restructuring the party for better performance in future elections. He emphasized that the PDP is committed to inclusivity and transparency, ensuring that every voice within the party is heard and valued.
