PASAN President inaugurates Kogi Exco, declares assembly autonomy as constitutional.

National President, Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria ( PASAN), Com. Adams Usman has inaugurated the newly elected executive members of Kogi chapter of the union that will run its Affairs for the next three years, declaring that granting administrative and financial autonomy to state assemblies is constitutional.
Com. Adams Usman who made this declaration during the inauguration at the Chambers of Kogi State House of Assembly, reiterated PASAN’s commitment to ensure that agitation for autonomy scale through.
While stating that the consolidated salary being paid to staff of National Assembly would be replicated in states, he revealed that PASAN would shut down any state where the governor refused to cooperate. He advised the inaugurated executive members to shun tribalism but be united.
In a remark, Chairman ,Kogi State Assembly Service Commission, Alh Andas Abdulmalik who assured that Governor Yahaya Bello is a friend of legislative workers, added that the governor has been working ahead of the Federal Government to bring about the realisation of the autonomy by granting self accounting bill.
He said Governor Bello was not one of the governors that would be forced to grant autonomy, explaining that he had already given approval for the deployment of 154 staff to the assembly service commission.
He called on the executive to improve on their past records as well as shun tribalism.
Also, Clerk of the House, Alh Ibrahim Amoka advised the new executive members to return to the drawing board and work on members’ welfare especially on transportation to and from the assembly complex.
In a vote of thanks, the new Chairman who appreciated the National President and his team for gracing the inauguration, recommended the Commission Secretary, Comr Yemisi Olorunmaiye and the ex official, Comr Abdul Muhammed Bello who laboured to birth and nurtured PASAN in Kogi for future awards.
The new executive members are: Oganza Saliu (Chairman), Agidi Muhammed (Vice Chairman), Jiya Abdukadri (Secretary), Ibrahim Abdukarim( Treasurer), Victor Atule (Fin Sec), Alkali Yunusa (PRO), Barr Ipinmida Ajinomo (Legal Officer) and David Joshua ( Assist Sec).
Others are Egidi Sani (Assist PRO), Ayo Omotola (Internal Auditor), Fehintola Obafemi ( Social Secretary), Yahaya Barakat ( Welfare Sec) and Abdul Muhammed Bello (Ex Official).
