OTOSA Pioneer National Student President urges FG to give attention to Technical, vocational education


 

The Federal and State Governments have been urged to give more attention to Technical and vocational education in order to stem the tide of unemployment and insecurity in Nigeria.

Pioneer National President, Odu Technical School Old Students Association (OTOSA), Engineer Sunday Anaja made the call during his inaugural speech in Abuja.

Engineer Anaja said the need for technical and vocational education cannot be over emphasized in view of the current challenges confronting the nation.

He described Odu Technical School as one which has produced dependable personalities doing excellently well in both private and public sectors.

The National President said his vision and mission will include membership drive for unity and Development, welfare of members and ensuring positive impact on their alma mata.

The National President also enjoined governments to as a matter of necessity, create centres for technical and vocational training, saying technical education is key in the modern day society.

Engineer Anaja expressed appreciation to stakeholders who made the general meeting possible as well as members, for the confidence reposed on him promising to take the Association to greater heights.

He particularly expressed appreciation to Surveyor Hassan Idris, the sponsor of the programme and Builder S.I. Agbanwu for being the engine room of the body.

Others elected are Musa Halilu Secretary, Samuel Agbanwu Treasurer, Emmanuel Onalo Financial Secretary and Ilemona Unubi-Ocheni as Public Relations Officer, while five patrons were also appointed for the body.

The Patrons are Adams David, Jibo Husseini, Alabi Akeji, Engineer Chide Momoh and Engineer Ida Daikwo.

Odu Technical School is located at Odu Ogboyaga in Dekina Local Government Area.
