Osaseyi Foundation Felicitates with Kogi Youth on the Occasion of International Youth Day Celebration -Makes a cash donation to Kogi NYCN for Renovation of Office Space.

In commemoration of year 2022 International Youth day, the Executive Committee of National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter, held a program to celebrate her one year anniversary in office. The program doubled as a fundraising event for the renovation of the new office the amiable governor Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello graciously gave the NYCN, Kogi state branch.

The event had in attendance quite a number of illustrous sons and daughters of Kogi State and several Appointees of the Kogi State government. The crux of the event was to analyze the issues inhibiting participation of the Youth in Politics and to chart a way forward for more inclusion and participation of the youth particularly in Kogi State.

The Chairman, Osaseyi Foundation Mr. Richard Osaseyi ably represented by Oluwakemi Omeiza-Usman Esq delivered a goodwill message during the event and his message to the Youth was simple. He observed that majority of the youth were disengaged from democratic and civic activities and concentrated more on professional careers. He reiterated that while this in itself was not a bad thing, the Youth ought to show more interest and passion for governance. Secondly, he urged the Youth to show humility to the elders who are seasoned politicians; as the youths needs guidance as well as mentorship from the elders if they are to make good future leaders. As much as the cry for more participation of the Youth in Politics is loud at the moment, the elders cannot be done away with. Finally, he urged the Youth to take the bull by the horn by shunning fear. Every youth has the capability to become anything they desire as long as they are not afraid and are not daunted by the prevalent issues plauging or affecting youth participation in Politics. Issues such as poverty, lack of education, lack of mentorship, lack of experience in governance, etc. He urged the Youth to rise up and take their place in governance as they are the future of our dear country.

The Osaseyi Foundation wishes the Youth a wonderful Celebration on this auspicious day and pledges to keep giving it’s unalloyed support to the Youth in Kogi state particularly those who wish to participate in Politics, through mentorship and other areas they may require aid.
