Ofejiji becoming a center of Islamic learning – Ambassador Usman Bello


 

History was yesterday made at Ofejiji in Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State as Seven young boys and girls did their Walimatul Qur’an.

The occasion which was attended by Kogi State JNI Officials led by Ambassador Usman Bello also drew guests from far and near.

In a remark at the occasion, Ambassador Usman Bello, Chairman JNI Kogi State, expressed delight that Ofejiji was becoming a center of Islamic learning especially since JNI instituted a Central Mosque in the area last year.

He commended the Qur’anic Teacher employed by JNI for the Community, Mallam Bashir, promising to do more to sustain the tempo.

In a remarks, the State Secretary of JNI, Alhaji Isa Adeboye said, he was happy that God personally drew the attention of JNI to the area, stressing the need for all hands to be on deck as efforts are on to create a unique place around the mosque for Qur’anic Teaching and Learning.

He congratulated the graduands and urged them to learn more of Islam.

Earlier in a Lecture, the Chief Imam of JNI in Kogi State, Sheikh Usman Tauheed said nothing compares to Qur’an hence the need to recite and work with the injunctions of Allah there in.

He commended those saddled with the responsibility of bringing up children in Islamic studies urging them not to relent.
In a vote of thanks, the Coordinator of JNI for Kogi East, Sheik Muhammad Nasrideen Mesuna Malle thanked JNI leadership in Kogi State for working very hard for the growth of Islam in the State.

He particularly appreciated the body for turning around the fortunes of Ofejiji Islamically.

Highlight of the event was recitation of the Holy Qur’an by the seven graduands who were mostly children of non Muslims.

Those who graduated and were massively celebrated include Muhammad Mustapha Adam, Abdul Ridwan Aminu,Umm Salam John, Abdulrahman Muhammad, Salamatu Usman, Aishat Husseini and Muhammad Nurudeen Adaji.
